American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act ~ SUPPORT ~

What it does: Prohibits the shipping, transporting, moving, delivering, receiving, possessing, purchasing, selling, or donation of horses and other equines to be slaughtered for human consumption.

Restore Protections for Wild Horses & Burros ~ SUPPORT ~

What it does: Restores the prohibition on the commercial sale and slaughter of wild free-roaming horses and burros. This provision was stripped by an amendment slipped into the 2005 Omnibus Spending Bill.

Wild Horses and Burros / Interior Appropriations Amendments ~ SUPPORT ~

House Amendment 184, The Rahall-Whitfield Amendment to the Interior Appropriations Bill

What it does:  Prohibits tax dollars from being used to support the sale of wild horses and burros for slaughter. 

Latest News:  Passed the House by a 249 to 159 vote.  Representatives Heather Wilson (district 1) and Tom Udall (district 2) voted for the amendment. The Interior Appropriations Bill is now under consideration by the Senate.
