Community Participation in Strengthening
Animal Protective Laws
Animal Protection Voters pledges to promote community
involvement to strengthen animal protection laws.
APV staff will host discussions periodically in
communities across the state to give compassionate
citizens the tools and encouragement they need to
get involved in the legislative process.
It is important for the voices of compassionate
citizens to be heard. That’s why APV wants
to meet face-to-face with our supporters, to enable
you to speak with a clearer and more vibrant voice
for the animals.
At each meeting, attendees will learn how to influence
their elected officials, how to activate their communities,
and how to raise the profile of animal issues. Key
issues needing to be addressed by state or local
governments will be highlighted. APV staff will
provide background on these issues of cruelty and
discuss how they can be addressed through legislation.
Check back to see when future meetings are scheduled,
or send us an e-mail if you’d like to help
organize a meeting in your community.
